Making Variations on a Theme in one color

We have at least one person planning to use one color to make this afghan. Yarn amounts for a one-color afghan should be about 2000 yards.

Thanks...I'm making it in one color and can't wait to see how it all turns out! :)

I'm making it all in one color too. I have chosen a mauve color to do it in.

I am going totally random, just looking at what I have laying around, and I have lotts laying around, I am trying to use some of my more unique yarns and trying to stick to some basic color families.

I'm using one color for all my squares (a coffee color), but I'm going to use an off-white for the borders and edging.

Are the others of you that are using one color using that same color to do your borders with? (Not the afghan border, but the square borders.)

I was skeptical about using two different colors on the square borders, but it gives a really nice shadow effect. Very subtle, but pretty.
I'm using different shades of blue and gray from my stash, trying to use up odds and ends and then using black for the outside border of the squares. Still trying to figure out what we're going to do with seven squares. I have faith in Carolyn, so I'm just crocheting along.

I'm using a variety of yarns from my stash including some "polka dot" yarn and a yarn in three colors (a twist) from France that I've had for 35 years. Time to do something with that one!

I'm not sure what will happen with mine. I'm using two colors for the blocks, a light yellow and a dark sage green. I'm going to border my squares with those colors and join all with white. I started with stash yarn and if it doesn't work, I guess I'll just whip up some new squares! I wondered about the odd number, too.

I'm having too much fun to stop!
